According to Wandrd, “The magnet draws it in, the self-centering design guides it home, and the spring-loaded tension locks it down the moment weight is applied.” That means the magnet handles speed and alignment, while the lock handles safety.
Crucially, the magnets are not responsible for holding camera weight. Once your camera hangs, the spring-loaded mechanism clamps down, and removing the strap requires a deliberate pinch on the dual-lock buttons. Wandrd built the hardware from PA66 fiberglass-reinforced nylon, avoiding metal that could scratch camera bodies while keeping the links strong and light. The strap itself uses custom Liquid Nylon Tubular Webbing. Torus Links include a visual wear indicator with black, yellow, and red zones to signal when to replace them.
